I've updated the Aluminium Bike Cart project with some improvements I made to the cart the next season after it was constructed. A new tow bar was added which vastly improved the previous design and a much better hitch built for the bicycle side of it.

That's the best way to attach a trailer. It gives it more support from the rear tire of the bike and evens the load. I would recommend some skinnier road tires to further decrease drag. I swap between 700c wheels for road, and 26" wheels with thicker tread on my Fuji bikes. One has drop handle bars and is an all around fast bike, basically a 10-speed, and one is a commuter bike which has really nice gearing.
