I'm going to start moving all of the home-grown CAPTCHAs used throughout the site to reCAPTCHA. The first casualty is the guestbook. The old guestbook doesn't see much use these days, so I figured it would be a good test. Sign the guestbook and tell me how much it is rocks or sucks. Next up is probably a CAPTCHA implementation on Random Thoughts.

I like commenting on Random Thoughts because it is the only wobsite that doesn't have a CAPTCHA. Same with your Blag.

If you don't have the time to do it right, when will you have the time to do it over?

What is a "Blag"?

CAPTCHAs are annoying, but are a necessary evil. Without them, I receive hundreds of spam posts per day. While in almost all of the forms I moderate, something sneaks through once and a while (an accidental double click, etc.). Plus it is a huge waste of my time to sift through the spam.

At least with reCAPTCHA, all the time people waste on CAPTCHAs goes to some good use.

I thought of making my own system, using a series of pictures or something ("pick 3 kittens from this picture") but that sounded annoying.

Hmm, I'd have to answer "No" because it was just a movie. Guess I'd fail.

This is the only funny xkcd: http://xkcd.com/327/

While pretty amusing, there is a ton of them that are quite funny.

If you don't have the time to do it right, when will you have the time to do it over?

I don't get it. Is $4.08 per gallon good or bad? And regardless of fuel prices, a typical SUV costs more to fill up then a smaller car, so the smaller car owner is always going to save fuel...

At any rate, the Guestbook seems to be working fine on reCAPTCHA so soon I'll start on the rest of the site.
