Privacy Policy

Aaron's Homepage respects your privacy. Your personal information, email address, etc. will never be distributed or sold to anyone else. Below are privacy statements regarding specific parts of the site:

Guestbook
Everything you enter into the guestbook is publically viewable. This means that your name, email address, location and comment can be seen by anyone looking at the guestbook. Of course, since this is the entire point of a guestbook, you probably expected that. If you don't agree with this, then simply do not sign (or make up a name/email).
The Forum
All information you enter when you register can be viewed in your profile by anyone, except the password of course. The only required information is a username, password and email address. Everything else is optional.
The Mailing List
The address you enter is stored directly in a database. This database is rarely viewed by human eyes. For that matter, the only eyes which see the database are mine. This database will never be sold or distributed, and is only accessed when emails are sent to subscribers to notify them when this site is updated. This takes place roughly once or twice per year. At any time, you can remove yourself from this mailing list by putting your subscribed address into the form found on the home page and pressing the "Remove Me" button.
The Contact Page
The contact page requires you to enter your email address so it may send you a message containing my email address (this is an anti-spam and anti-harassement feature I have had to implement) which you may use to contact me. The address you enter is stored for about 5 seconds in the server's memory, and then erased. It is not saved anywhere, and I do not log who requests my address. An email is then sent to that address, containing my contact information and a few simple instructions for emailing me. Only one email is ever sent to your address.
Random Thoughts Comments
Everything you enter in that form will become publically viewable if your comment is approved. This means that your name, email address and comment will be visible by anyone viewing the page. If you don't wish to use your real name, you may enter "anonymous" in both the "Name" and "Email" fields. There is some simple protection used to prevent spammers from harvesting your email address but it will be visible to any actual humans who request it.

Others...
There are no other forms that request your name or email on this site. Therefore, anything you enter on those forms is completely anonymous (with the exception of your IP address, which is recorded in the server logs like every other website does).
