A young musical friend needs to ring an old bell type phone on commmand during performances. Prefer simple, say 9v dc battery supply and push button switch to inverter; I need 50 or 60 v ac output BUT must be only 25 to 30 hertz. OK Can 120 v ac supply if necessary but safety is a problem.

If you bring down the 120VAC to 70V or so, then it can be used as I have done it before for the exact same reason you are. These 70V transformers are common in PA systems or many old appliances using tubes.

You can also just use a different bell that does not require strange voltages. 12V bells are common in fire alarm units and the like.
