Posted - Jul 12 2006 : 8:40:42 PM I live on a farm, and would like to use a computer in a building over 100 feet away form the main phone line.
I think a modified portable phone might be a way to do this.
Before anyone mentions a wireless modem jack; there is about 170 of powerline between the building and the main phone line.
I appreciate any help the phone experts can give.

Posted - Jul 13 2006 : 01:00:08 AM Well, i'm sorry, but a wireless modem will have to do. Making a signal go over the powerlines is possable, but it is still in testing, and very unsafe if not done with precautions(120volts being forced into your computer's ports isn't very good.). You will have to modify a modem, then make a transciever. Good Luck.
