HA! so is it some sort of marketing gimmick? Hmmmmm thx for the info i will no longer respect the 5.7ghz phone i saw

You can read about wireless home phones in Google.
The first ones operated on 1.7Mhz and 27Mhz and created interference when "everybody" got them. Then they used 900MHz, 2.4GHz and now even higher frequencies as more interference is reported. The range is about the same for any frequency, allover your home and yard. A little allover your neighbourhood.
