I am new around here but it seems that you guyz, have the same krazy ideias like me.

Last year i builed a Go Kart too, but with 2 eletric motors, so it really isn't a Go kart...lol it maybe a caddie, i don't reach the 40kph, lol last time it reached 38kph :P

i am using 2 1000W vacuum kleaners motors :P, so you see how good is 38kph. But the Great thing of the kart is that when i turn the wheel, a very nice POT turns too, and the wheels turn too (DIRECT CONNECTION DUH! no motor sorry ;) ) , but the great thing is that i have a 8051, controlling 2 tca785, each one of them is controlling a TRIAC, each TRIAC is giving power to the motors, so i can control the Voltage to the motors, and so i have the same kind of control that the BMW kars have (more easy using 2 eletric motors :) ), it really fun to drive the car, the only problem i have is that if i turn to much the wheel, i suffer a tremendous G FORCE making U turns that sometimes it makes me sick , the great part is that i can leave the car making MANY U TURNS.

i will try to take some photos and put in my HTTP server and you guys kan see.
:P
If you guys want to build something like this, Glad to helP :P
