Read up on the basics of how an electric motor is constructed. Then, you will get an understanding of what you're trying to accomplish...There are so many causes for problems like this, and they all vary on the type of motor you have. For example, if you are trying to run an induction motor on DC, it will sit there, do nothing, draw a large amount of current and probably get very warm (there may even be smoke). Odds are that if this motor was removed from an appliance, it is an induction motor...

Well, sounds like your coils have shorted or there is something wrong with the brushes. try dissasembling the motor and looking for obvious damage. Tell me what you see.

2 things:

1 - Please try and proofread your posts amd make sure you have good spelling and grammar.

2 - Try and make your posts make sense and elaborate on your questions.

From what I can infer, you asking how to fix an old electric motor. You need to give us more info. Does it smoke, vibrate, will it kinda spin if you turn it? What type of motor is it? universal, syhncronus?
