Hey Aaron i love the site. Interesting stuff. but i do have a question. Ok, what i want to know is- is it possible to use nitrous oxide on a go kart engine like a B&S or tecumseh? can you just feed the nitrous into the carb like in a car? is there a kit or a system you can buy to adapt nitrous into the go kart engine? If you could get back to me on this i would apreciate it.

Thanks,
The DJ

Ok, thanks for the help. This is just a crazy project i conjured up after i built my go kart and my friend gave me his nitous system from his mustang (crashed)....

I don't know off hand if someone has done this, but it's a pretty safe assumption that someone has somewhere. A search on Google for "nitrous go-kart" should turn it up.

Nitrous will not make the engine "go faster" (increase in RPM), but it will make it produce much more power. You could probably safely tripple the power of a standard B&S engine.

Nitrous cannot just be fed to a carb. This is not how it's done on cars, and you can't do that on a lawnmower engine. You need to be careful about where you inject your nitrous (must be AFTER the throttle body) or you could cause an explosion. You will also need adaquate fuel to compensate for the extra oxygen introduced by the nitrous.

Do you know of someone that has down this? BTW: would this actually make the engine go faster? or blow it? if it would go faster how much faster would you say i mean a considerable amount or a few more MPH?

You will probably want to use a "Sneaky Pete" type kit, but modifiy it to inject fuel as well. Use a very small jet, and then go bigger until you find the limits of the engine.

The jet should be installed after the throttle butterfly. On B&S engines, there is lots of space just before the block. Don't know about the others.
