Even a simple design is quite complicated as far as the drawings go, and I doubt anyone has ever drawn one up...

You need to decide what you want to build first...How many wheels? How many seats? For cruising, or top speed? Accelleration? What kind of materials do you have available?

For an idea of what it takes to make an electric go-kart, check out http://www.austinev.org/evalbum/index9.html

Um, a little more detail then that...

Look at other go-karts, decide what elements you like and don't like...The steering system is probably the most "complicated".

Short answer: build a rectangle frame out of wood. Mount pillow mount bearings at the back, and put a shaft through the bearings. Put your pully/sprocket in the middle of the shaft, and attach a wheel to each end. Extend a belt/chain to another pully/sprocket on your motor, which is mounted above the axel. Go for a 3:1 reduction from motor:axel. Mount your seats, then figure out your steering. This is hard to describe, but look atthe front suspension of a lawn tractor or another go-kart and copy it.

www.skynet.ie/~steviewdr/woodenkart/

This is designed for a gas engine but it could be easily modified for electric and plus it's made out of wood
