The project intends to develop a system that will monitor ambient noise and will activate a voice prompt that will inform and caution people that the measured sound has reached an unacceptable level. The monitoring of the ambient noise will include display of measured sound pressure level and current status in terms of quiet, moderately quiet and noisy conditions. Once the measured sound pressure level exceeds the prescribed level within a period of time, the voice alarm will be activated. How can i make this possible? Can you send me cicuit diagrams for this? thanks!!! here's my emailadd: aileen_je22@yahoo.com
It sounds like a school project. Are you supposed to design it yourself or to copy it?
A preamp for a microphone is easy to design. A signal rectifier and level display are also easy. A 3-stage indicator is also easy. A voice prompt can be recorded into a circuit, amplified and played by a speaker. But you won't hear the voice prompt because it will be covered by the noise.
What if the neighborhood cat walks by....does sound like a project... Anyways, audioguru, i get everything you say there but am curious, how would you get a circuit to detect a higher power over time...and how would it trigger a relay :P just curious
~Mike~ Theres 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary and those who don't
Damage to your hearing is caused by sound exceeding a certain level for a certain duration of time. So you need a level measuring circuit combined with a timer.
