I have a question about how u would send something over the phone-line when you're connected. This circuit would be connected to to the phone-line. The thing sent could be anything from tones to pre-recorded messages.
Thanks

If you pull apart an old style phone you'll see how simple it actually is. You will also need a relay so that you can connect and disconnect this transformer from the line to put the phone on and off hook.

Posted - Jul 29 2006 : 6:12:42 PM Ahh, a telephone? Do you mean raw data? A modem would be needed for that. It would be cheaper to buy one than acutally make one. MS-DOS 6.0 has a utility that allows you to connect right to another computer via phone line. You can chat, send data, even program a simple mulitplayer game! All phone costs still apply. 1 minute of datatransmition=1 minute of talking. Have fun!
