ok..i know this has nothing to do with the turbo, but you are just sooo knowledgeable, here it goes:
what do i have to take out in order to reach the coolant drain plug from underneath my engine?? i took that shield out and i still cant reach it.is it suppost to be this difficult to reach?
You mean the one on the drivers side in the engine mount?
You can reach it from above with an opened end wrench. It's a little annoying, but pretty easy once you've got the technique down.
If you mean the one on the rad, there is a hole on the plastic underbelly pan that has a little cap. Pop out the cap then use a large phillips screwdriver. Be careful not to strip the plug, as Mazda does not sell that part (they make you buy a whole rad).
Also these little plugs things seem to like snapping the heads aways from the threaded bit!! but luckily I could get some spare ones from my local radiator place.. so be gentle if thats the plug your taking out
(talking about the ones in the radiator, not the engine plug..)
