Woohoo!
I finally got my oil return welded into my sump, a very nice job too. I also got a small (~16mm) spacer made up for the turbo just so it sits even further away from the inlet manifold aswell. My gasket set also arrived today aswell, so i've started putting it all back together finally. should have some pics sometime tomorrow for you all.

Are you using the TII intake?

nope, funny you should ask though, because i'm actually thinking about going that way sometime soon.
I have a custom exhaust manifold that sits the turbo shitloads further forward compared to the standard manifold, that why the whole thing fits. I still had to 'modify' the inlet manifold to get it to fit properly. I only got the spacer made up to make putting an exhuast on alot easier and to get it as far away from the inlet manifold as possible(for heat reasons..). The spacer actually sits between the turbo and the manifold.

There's not much of an advantage in using the TII intake if you have a custom manifold. In retrospect, this is what I should have done to begin with. Just for some odd reason didn't cross my mind (funny how that works). I'll let you know a little secret: this is what I will be doing eventually. I will be picking up another TII turbo (S4) and probably going with twins. . As for this spring, my engine will be bridgeported, so I should have no problem spooling them.

I realise there isn't really any performance reason to use the TII intake, the only reason I want to use it is to make my FMIC pipping shitloads neater, easier.. You'll see what I mean when I post some pics..

damm i'd love a turbo bridge port.. but thats a LONG way off for me! just out of interest have you thought of a manifold design for the twins yet?
