I have some old pedal gokart and a 6.5 hp lawnmower engine i can probly buy off my dad, but i have no idea how to go about hooking it up. I took the seat off and theres plenty of room to mount the engine, and fortunately its right above the sprocket. So do i need to buy a bike chain clutch, figure out how to install it to the engine, and attach the chain to the kart? or is it mroe complicated then that

If all your clearences are good, then you can do this 2 ways: get a centripetal clutch and weld a biike pulley to it, the only problem is that the chain might break under the stresses, or you can skip over that part and put a sprocket on the back axle and use a standard sprocket on a clutch to connect it. Good luck!

It is a little complicated to explain. If you set your topic view to show "all topics" on this forum and read up on the go-kart and scooter topics, you will get a much better idea.
