Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum...

Here is my problem, I telephone olmost daily with my girlfriend... But sometimes I think I hear a click and get this feeling as if someone (like my mom) is listening...

Now I have a telephone central in my house.. so everyone can pick up there phone (there are 9 phone's in my house) , press 0 and listen to the outline ...

Is there any way, I could make a device , that could check if someone else is listening ?

Thanks alot,
Michiel Lovah

Yep, easiet way would be to put a high impedance voltmeter accross the line. When the voltage drops, another phone has been picked up. This is assuming a standard analog line...If you have some type of phone system, then it will depend on which system.

Or, get another phone line.

Another option is to just make the conversation "really" interesting when you think someone is listening.

do you have any siblings, especially younger ones. My sister does this alot when she wants to make a call. it gets annoying

I am not familiure with the telephone central, so a little more of an explanation of it would help me

Im not shure, but I think that most circuits that do what you want would monitor for voltage drop. at least that would be my guess. However, depending on your telephone system that you have, you may be able to monitor what phones are connected to what lines.
