Posted - Jul 30 2005 : 01:42:02 AM I was thinking about helping launch a Podcast for someone. I wanted to make phone calls and record them but I did not want any quality loss by using an actual telephone recorder that goes into mic/remote jack on a shoe box tape deck. What I want to do is run a line into my stereo mixer and use a microphone to talk intot he mixer on my end recording everything on minidisc. I tried taking 2 leads out of a speakerphone and hooking them into the mixer but it didn't work. Does anyone know of an idea or schematic that can accomplish this? I dont mind holding a handset aloing with the microphone to my mixer if I have to...

On a 120V powered phone with a speakerphone, you should be able to connect the speaker wires to your mixer via a matching transformer. Phones powered directly by the phone line won't allow this.
