Does it make a difference to the explosion how far the electrodes are apart; varying about 1/4". Also are there any better ways to clean them and for best result shouldnt they be pointed? Anyone got any suggestions?

well if they are screws, you should just screw thwm in and out of the barrel. you could put those endcap bolt thingeys for covering up bolt ends for a rounded electrode

How do you adjust the length of the nuts ;) and get rounded electrodes

Really, all you need is a good spark. You need to adjust the electrodes to the point where the arc is the longest, yet the spark is still nice and thick.

Actually, instead of pointed, the ends should be rounded.
