I've read that if you build your spudgun out of abs it will explode, I also read that pvc will explode if you use it, which is true. Is pvc schedule 40 enough, or should you go with 80? I've been wanting to build one for a few years, but haven't gotten around to it, been moving around to much, and now that winters here, it's to cold to use them. I'd have built them by now, but I have ALOT of other projects going.

Both types are fine. However, if PVC blows up it will produce shards of material. ABS will simply crack.

Just make sure to use the proper glue/solvent.
