Posted - Jul 30 2004 : 6:41:57 PM I was just wondering if anyone knows where i can find a transformer from 110v to 30 or 35v. I got a wheel chair and i got the differentials from it with the 24 volts motor attached to it and i am thinking to use my apc from the computer and the 30 v transformet to power up the motor. what do u say?

Yes, you can just put two batteries in series as long as they are the same voltage and capacity.

But why? Why not just power the motor directly from the batteries? Also, the motor will want DC, not AC.

Posted - Aug 02 2004 : 09:40:59 AM I would try just looking around town, at junkyards, warehouses and the like. I found a 35 volt battery charger on the side of the road, that thing weighed like 30 punds and I carried it 4 blocks. My arms where tired after that. Its out there, you just gotta look in the right places. turn over stuff, all the good stuff is hiding.
