My son has a 12V Peg Perego John Deere Gator that has been modified.

The gear box keeps stripping the plastic gears because the motor is on or off. I would like to make a simple motor controller that would allow the motor to start and stop with a gradual delay of some type.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,
Bill Stuck

The easiest thing would be to hit eBay and pick up a scooter controller. Making a PWM controller is nontrivial, even a small one.
