About 3 years ago I got a brand new "king road" gy200 motorbike with intention on geting it registured took it in to the rego department they laughed and said no way they don't even have a compliance plate, any way that aside I took the bike up to 80kmh and it was scary VERRY scary I thought it was going to fall apart vibrated like crazy so I took the bike back and got a full refund and brought a honda (still a fantastic bike), Then last year I brought a 50cc peewee copy just to check it out and then resell, seemd to go ok but was basicaly a whippersnipper motor on a light weight frame sold it a day (ok I know it would have lasted if a 5 year old kid was on it) later the clutch went aparently. Now I've just swaped a old honda xl185 for a brand new semi automatic 110cc 4speed electric and kick start chinese bike all I can say is WOW this thing goes, it sounds like a honda (looks like a posty bike ct110 motor) but goes way harder, the only thing I can pick on it so far is the crap airfilter especally it facing the front of the bike crazy water got in to my carby had to clean it out,Also had to replace the NGK spark plug that was in it as it was sparking off to the side, a friend of mine has had 2 of these bikes one was manual and one was auto the manual clutch one has 2 gears left (2 not working) and the auto still works great and gets up on the back wheel on all 4 gears,
Just wondering how long people have had chinese bikes and what you think?
Has any one opend up one of these motors for a look? are they any thing like the honda motors?

Posted - Aug 18 2008 : 10:40:50 AM I don't like buying things from China. Our government sees it fit that they put our people out of business and work to send for things from China because they can get them for less money but we only end up paying the same ammount or more a few years later. However, the government thinks that they can get tax money from us when we don't have jobs to pay for the items... I guess that is why they want a carbon tax on everything.
China dosn't make everything crappy though. After all about 98% of everything we own comes from there. I've never opened up a china made engine before but I'd guess its like most others but with some minor engineering changes to make it optimal for what they wanted.
Congrats on buying and loving the thrill of riding though! |
