I hear people talk about starting a flooded rotary with the ATF trick and many others. What about push starting?

What do you think Aaron?

A hill would work. Pushing a flooded rotary by hand is generally futile. It takes a good amount of speed and distance to blow all the extra fuel out of the engine and it would take a group of fit people to accomplish the same.

Hey, that's what friends are for right? My friends helped push start my car twice because my battery blew up.

Or use a hill.

Just use regular oil instead of ATF. In the long term (which can happen if the engine won't start after an attempted unflooding and is then left to sit), ATF will damage the rubber oil o-rings. An ounce in each leading spark plug hole, spin the engine over by hand, put another ounce in and then start the car.

For severe flooding, push starting may be the only way to do it. But that is push starting with another vehicle, because doing so by hand is just a waste of time.
