Does anyone know how to do laser alignment on a Stanton Pro CD player? I believe it has sony cdrom drives in it. Is this easy to do?

Actually you shouldn't touch the lens at all unless you see a big smudge on it or something. If it's just a little dusty use compressed air to blow the dust off. Otherwise leave it alone.

No, tissue paper is much more likely to scratch the lense than cotten.

see to it that rail is clean lubricate with a drop of no.1 or no.2 sewing machine oil.inspect gears with magnifying lense. In operation the lense assembly moves by jogging sometimes it can't move that freely becuase of dirt.ok to yse tissue paper to clean lense..not cotton it might scrape lense coating.

The problem is on occasion ti will lock up and jump around between seconds one and two and it will start a song like 5 seconds in sometimes... Someone at a Pro Audio shop told me to get my laser aligned and thet it did not need cleaned?

if you mean focusing.. laser assembly aligns themselves..does it prompt you "no disk"?clean those ribbon wires with pencil erasers..disc motor are are alsoa cause of thse paroblem the comutator get filled with conductive dirt and slows it down or the brush
gets too thin and makes erratic contact..hope this helps.
