I bought a razor type scooter and a 17cc weed eater for five dollars each. I mounted the engine and I am going to put a peg on the shaft for a spindle drive. It is based on some of the scooters on Tzi's website. My only problem is how am I going to put brakes on the front. I don't want to put them on the back because I only have enogh cable to hook it up to the front. The brakes I have are normal bike brakes (the ones with the pads). I have the part (that you squeez with your hand)all ready on. I don't know haw to put the actual braking part on without drilling a hole in the scooter, because I dont want to. The brakes have a bolt in the diddle of thme. You are supposed to put a hole in the metal for the bolt to go through. What can I do?

using bike brakes on a mini scooter probaly won't work. You should bodge together some sort of simple brake like what is already built into the scooter. Btw where did you get your motor.

You'll just have to drill a hole, or get a section of cable long enough to locate them at the back (which would probably still require a hole).

The motor is from a 17cc wead eater. When I bought it it was not running but I fixed it. I bought it for five dollars. I have changed the drive from spindle to gears.

Either there is a language misunderstanding, or he is just rude.

Personally, I sort of agree. Spindle drive just sucks.

I know its not the best drivetrain but i'm just a kid. I don't know that much yet. If I make another one it will be better. If you don't like it say it nicely like aaron.
