Anyone know if these devices will work on a line that also is used for DSL traffic? Would the DSL filter be needed like a conventional telephone?

It should be fine if you use a filter. DSL is sort of a black art, so anything could effect it. I've had customers with leaky microwaves that interfered (the phone line ran right behind the micorwave).
