i have a problem and wondered if anyone could help. i have recently made a copper potato cannon, however i seem to be having problems with ignition. i use a barbecue flame lighter, it worked fine with my pvc cannon. if you have any ideas on whats wrong please tell me!!
ive tried lighting it with the cap open and flames spew out and ive tried loads of mixtures with right guard from one tiny squirt to 7 squirts but still no joy i have aired the gun between aswell, i was wondering if fuel condenses on the copper, i dont have a clue
It's not the copper that is preventing it from igniting. I would first try switching ignitors. BBQ lighters are very poor for this. Try a flint style lighter, or other high voltage source.

i have a copper gun too, and it fires fine. i use a flint gun for my ignition, with some cheap deoderant propellant. maybe you shoud try a flint gun. i don't no how availiable these are so you may have a problem getting one. i found mine in a shed.
