Ok, the FM bug was constructed and the LED shines bright. I can't locate the signal with my standard FM radio. How can I pin point the transmitter's frequency or if it is even transmitting at all? Does the LED indicate whether or not the circuit is transmitting? :) :) Novice can learn too ;)
In the lower FM band is where you should find it. The only reliable way to actually prove it is transmitting is with a scope. The LED just indicates power.
I apreciate the quick response and must say that I admire your craft.
Is there a cheap alternative to an oscilloscope to determine that the radio is transmitting?
P.S. I notice every that GMRS/FRS radios sold everywhere have jumped in range from 5 miles to 10 miles and beyond. The units are even getting smaller. Is the power just amplified or are there mods you can inflict on a standard GMRS/FRS handhelds to up the out range.Thank you!
