WOW, I must admire the size of the glass and its shiny fiament.

To operate it under 115 Volts at 100KW. You Need :
P = IV
I = P/ V

I = 870 Amperes

The cables feeding it must be huge. I shudder to think of the intensity of the light from this bulb or from a similar 100KW Metal Halide Lamp.

Haha, now that would be literally called as a Sunlamp. Testing efficiencies of solar panels would probably be a possible purpose, if not melt the thin wafer of silicon in the panels.

Sunlight in the lab can be easily controlled, while natural sunlight is a bit unpredictable.
