i am looking at modifind a bike to be a hybrid of gas motor and petal power, anyone have any expirence with this???

I've seen bolt on kits, but what you're basically talking about is a moped.

Have you considered electric? Check your local laws because often electric assist bicycles don't require any special licensing.
