Okay, so my friend and i want to put a Rotary engine in his 88 Ford Ranger RWD. I heard that The transmission in the ranger may be the same as the one in an RX7 FC. That is something i want to get confirmed. If it fits like that, it would be engine mounts and that's about it. Thanks, i really appreciate it. |
If you don't have the time to do it right, when will you have the time to do it over? |

I beleave the trans is the same as the turbo trans in the 7 but with a differant bell housing. I've also heard that the gears are not as strong as the turbo 7 version; I'm no expert so ask around first. |

The Ranger/B2-whatever uses the M type 5 speed, which is basically the same as the NA S4 RX-7. From what I understand, the RX-7 transmission bolts in without too many issues. I've found it generally far easier to swap the transmission when doing any kind of engine swap than it is to adapt the existing transmission.
The M type is common, cheap and fine for an NA rotary.
If the engine is going to be putting out more than about 200HP, then the R type transmission from the TII RX-7 is the best choice. |

I have no idea. It looks like you've only posted half of the bulletin.
Based on what you posted, there is some issue with the 2007 CX-7 causing lack of performance below 2000 RPM, that has something to do with engine cooling. |
