With a Gaterade bottle? if you ignite that you will have plastic every where. you should reinforce it with tape. Strong tape. although it still might blow. For a mini spudder i ould use a White-Out bottle using electrical ignition system. to refill the combustion chamber ill use the little straw that come with WD-40

i had fun by taking the confetti popper things apart and using them in pens to shoot rice and lead shot

I built my own mini spudgun out of a plastic bottle, it shot out pill bottles pretty far. The pill bottle projectiles had tap around them so that there would be a tight seal to the bigger bottle. It used the neck of the bottle as a barrel (like 2 cm)! I accidentally broke a glass picture frame with just an empty plastic pill bottle.

i made a mini cannon. wat i did was i took a hard pill bottle and a pen tube. i glued the pen barrel in and taped the out side. for ignition i used the igniter from a bbq lighter( those hand lighters were a flame comess out of a long tube) its a lot of fun.

Making small spudguns is easy as long as you don't want overly much power. In fact, the smaller the gun is, the easier it can be to build.
PET plastic bottles make good combustion chambers, if you can find some way to attach the barrel securely. I made one from a 2 litre bottle, with a plastic pipe simply duct-taped over the neck screw, and a BBQ igniter fly-leaded to a spark gap. I had problems with aspirating this design as the only opening was the barrel, I had to fill it with water after each firing to get all the exhaust gases out. This design could in theory be scaled down, try finding one of those 250ml PET bottles (in UK, brand name Panda Pops), make a small neat hole on the bottom to take your barrel (pen casing, thin metal tube etc.), and a spark gap near the neck which would be the filling hole. The bottles can take a lot of pressure as long as you don't go mad with it. My ultimate goal with one of these is to make a handgun-style spudder with the piezo igniter as the trigger :).
Hope this helps, just experiment- it never hurts.

Yeah, I had the same problem with getting the exhaust out, but wouldn't the water short the spark?
