Hi me and friends are planning to build a go-kart out of a lawn mower motor (gas-powered)and a grocery cart. We don't want to spend anything over $10 (yes ten bucks..we're 14 O.O broke..) so we look for things in the garbage. Can anyone help us out making plans and even show us some diagrams? We are not really experience..Except for me, and there are four us including me so it gets a little hard. I would really appreciate it. I want to finish building one before the end of the summer as my summer project.
Thanks again,
Sam

You're not going to be able to do it for less then $10. There are certain things that cannot really be re-used like nuts and bolts, lockwashers, belts, oil, grease, bearings, etc. Some of those things can be used more then once but it's far from a good idea.

Also, a shopping cart isn't going to provide many useful parts. The wheels are faily crappy and unsuitable for high speeds or high loads.
