I was actually thinking of making a marble cannon that shot 1/2in diameter marbles using methylated spirits. However, I'm not too sure of what to exactly use on a "scaled down" spudgun. Do you guys have any suggestions to the overall design of the gun? Variety of parts here are sort of limited as my country is more "consumer-oriented" if you get my drift.....
My concern with the gun is that the PVC might not be able to withstand the heat of the combustion (Will it?)

Why not just use "black" plumbing pipe? Commonly used for gas lines, at least around here.
