My FM transmitter is similar to the one here except it has a tuned RF amplifier 2N3904 transistor at its output.
Its range is across the street to a cheap clock radio.
Its range is more than 2km to my high quality very sensitive home stereo and car radio with nothing in between (over a large river valley).
The transmitting and receiving antennas must be the correct length and be parallel.
Directional antennas also increase the range.
