I have received a number of emails requesting schematics for infa-red remotes. So here is one. This remote transmits a tone using an infa-red LED. This tone is decoded by the receiver. Since the receiver only switches when it "hears" the tone, there are no accidental activations.

Schematic For Transmitter

This is the schematic of the IR Transmitter

Schematic For Receiver

Notes

  1. To adjust the circuit, hold down S1 while pointing LED1 at the receiver. Adjust R6 until you hear the relay click.
  2. You can increase range by using a high output LED for LED1.
  3. Bright light will stop the receiver from responding to the transmitter.
  4. There is an error in the schematic. There shuold be a 1 megaohm resistor between pin 3 of IC1 and ground. This provides a 0 volt reference to bias the IC.

Could someone please help me? I am a beginner at this kind of stuff and i want to make 4 Chanel infrared remote control, depending on the components. Each device output can be configured to be momentary (turned on while you press the button) or latched. Latched outputs can be toggled on/off by one button per channel, or turned on and off by two buttons per channel. i have one 4 x 8 Chanel schematic for infa-red remote control but that its never responded. You can see that web site (Peter’s electronic projects) DIY remote control based on PIC help me with schematic related part.

Thanks for the great circuit. It worked after I did some tuning of my own.. First the 1 megaohm didnt work for me so I had to find a suitable resistor that worked. Also a precise resistance is required from the resistance pot to make it work.. But overall it worked great.. Thanks again.. Keep it up..

I just went to the store ans asked for any phototransistor...The guy said I was crazy because he doesnt know what to sell me from the milluion parts he has. He asked for a part number...can someone give me the pert number they used or tried. The guy wouldnt even sell me a random one...I asked him but he refused. Please someone help me out.

Could someone please help me. I am a beginner at this kind of stuff and I just want to make a one button simple IR remote. I have an IR receiver module. Is this an IR triggered switch in itself?
