Hi,
I am not fully aware of Electronics, except for a few things here and there. I wanted to make the Phone Tap Circuit that I found on your site with the help of a friend who is currently studying Electronic Engineering. Since, he is a student, even he did not what was a Reed Relay. I however bought one (The shopkeeper gave me). My friend expected a coil, but what we got was like the one in the image (Link). Is this piece correct or do I need to get something different. Also how do I connect the wire to the Reed Relay. Please, if anyone can show me a detailed diagram.

Also, I have another question regarding the Phone Wire. I have a 2 Line Phone. i.e... 4 wires. But in the schematic diagram there is only 2. Will this circuit record only one line or do I have to rewire it in such a way that it will record from both the phone lines.

Please Help

The link for the image is http://www.simpleadmin.co.uk/galahuser/shahid/reedrelay.gif

1. There are many reed relays around. They do have a coil, and sometimes even a protection diode, so you may need to check the polarity. You need to know what part number did you get and then go to manufacturer's website to find a data sheet.
2. You need two separate circuits for two lines.
3. You have to let the people know that you record the conversation.
